It's More Than A Job

Gail is passionate about her job as a Support Worker with Threshold Edinburgh.

She is even more passionate about the people who have chosen to come to Threshold Edinburgh for support.

Seeing the need to find funds for the purchase of iPads to use in Threshold Edinburgh’s Day Services, Gail decided to combine her working passions with her love of the outdoors.

So, she is preparing to go for a walk – a 94 mile walk.  Following the path of Rob Roy, who reputedly used the paths and tracks of the route to which his name has been given, Gail will begin her journey on 28 March 2016 to walk the Rob Roy Way.

On April 03 2016, the people she supports at the service, staff and friends will cheer her to the finish line in Pitlochry before enjoying food together in celebration of her generosity and achievement.  An achievement which is all the more remarkable as she also is a carer for a family member.

When asked about the reasons for taking this challenge, Gail enthused,

“Providing iPads for the Day Service will enable the people we support to gain skills in using the internet, keypads and photography – the possibilities are endless.  I want the service users to get as many opportunities as possible.”
