Threshold Glasgow given Keep Safe refresher

Threshold Glasgow was paid a visit by Police Scotland this week, who provided some Keep Safe training.

Keep Safe is a Police Scotland led, award-winning initiative that started in Renfrewshire in response to feedback from the disabled community that there were times they did not feel safe when travelling independently.

The initiative is a partnership between I Am Me Scotland and Police Scotland and was originally developed to support disabled people to participate in community life, free from fear of harassment and abuse.

The initiative is available for anyone to use if they feel lost, scared, vulnerable or simply need some breathing space.

Keep Safe places can be any places, such as, libraries, cafes, council buildings or town halls with Threshold Glasgow a registered Keep Safe place.

Police Scotland Greater Glasgow said via social media: “Officers from Greater Glasgow Partnerships attended at CrossReach Threshold Glasgow this week to provide Keep Safe refresher training.

“Threshold Glasgow offer loving care to people of all ages who are in need of a helping hand, supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances.

“Threshold are registered as a Keep Safe Centre which is a place that anyone can use if they feel lost, scared or vulnerable while out and about.”
