We have created an enriched learning experience for pupils based on their strengths, skills and interests, using our Relational and Attachment focused approach.

The Children and Young People we support are aged from 8 – 18 years and have Additional Support Needs.

We have both residential and day pupils and our roll is for 36 Children and Young People.

Our class sizes are small with a maximum number of 6 pupils supported by a Teacher and a Support for Learning Assistant.

The Time Table and Education Programme is created around the needs of the pupils and the curriculum for each pupil is highly personalised and based on the principles and aims of Curriculum for Excellence (CfE).

Children and Young People will experience a mix of subject-based learning and inter-disciplinary learning. They may learn as a whole class, in smaller groups or on their own and we work to find the personalised approach that works best for each individual.

Individual Education Plans:
All children have potential and our aim is to unlock that through the flexible learning opportunities and motivating experiences we offer.

In line with Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC), we work with each young person (and parents and carers if appropriate) to identify the outcomes they want. This allows us to create a plan together with them which will work towards achieving their goals.

Curriculum:
Our education focuses on developing literacy, numeracy and wellbeing. Each pupil will go through 3 stages of individual development:

  1. How to Learn: a sense of self
Focusing on nurture, play, imagination and childhood
  2. What to Learn: learning to be learners
Exploring wider learning experiences, classroom skills and individual talents
  3. Learning Success: picking pathways
Preparing for life after school, including further study and the world of work

Education team:
We are proud to provide a caring and compassionate environment for children to learn and grow.

Our experience shows that children and young people feel safer when they have stable adult role models and consistent daily routines. Our highly qualified team, aims to give children structure, boundaries and targets, as well as spontaneity and flexibility in their education.
