Empowering families of Govanhill - Moderator's Time Day 1

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland reflects on his visit to Daisy Chain Early Years Project today [31.10.2022]

The Stay and Play session at our Daisy Chain Early Years Project is the first service this week to welcome the Rt Rev Dr Iain Greenshields to CrossReach.

Having enjoyed meeting some of the lively and enthusiastic participants, over an informal cuppa and delicious macrons especially made by volunteer Kevin Flynn, the Moderator heard first had about the benefits of and the need for this crucial support.

Situated in the community of Govanhill, where many families face challenges of poverty and inequality of opportunity, overcrowding and housing, Daisy Chain (as it's known) is making a real difference by providing inclusion, advocacy for families and by helping build strength within the families that have reached out for support.

The service provides trauma support and empowers families to pursue the lives they want and is truly on the side of the families that attend.
